HTML is the language used to make websites with.  It is able to be read with any computer with an internet browser.  This isn't really a programming language, but it is close.  HTML is being replaced with XHTML.  Do not worry, however, they are very similar, but XHTML has more rules about coding.

HTML editors like Microsoft Expression Web, which I used to build this site, make website making very easy.  They have a visual editor that you can use just like a text editor.

There is a great book (in online and in book form) called "Look Mom! I Built My Own Website!".  If you would like to view the book online, go to www.bookchamp.net.  You can also buy the book from Barnes & Noble
