High School Programming Competitions

Often sponsored by student chapters of the Association for Computing Machinery, high school programming competitions challenge students to provide solutions for up to ten problems in a fixed amount of time, usually three hours.  Teams of four share a computer while coding in Java or C++.

In our area, Virginia Commonwealth University, the University of Virginia, and the University of Maryland all host high school competitions.  Last year, RoboDesigners sent a team to UVa – our experiences are recorded on our blog.
